While this website is not my recommendation for anyone, I can say that it is extremely important in understanding the pervasiveness of sexualized children in our society. What makes this site so jarring in its content is that it contains images of young women who are not actually considered to be in their pre-pubescent years. From age 10-12, these girls are presented with provocative poses and phrases like "I want you to think dirty thoughts about me." This site depicts women as sexual objects who are available for consumption so popular culture encourages rapid participation by all viewers. Women are the objects of male sexual fantasies, and they do not have a choice in the matter. Women are not equal to men in this site. In the ten-year period from 1975 to 1985, 1 out of every 10 women between the ages of 14 and 44 had been sexually assaulted by a member of their own family(National Center for Injury Prevention & Control). This is a devastating statistic that shows that 50% of American women have endured some form of sexual assault or abuse. In 1988, sixty percent of all rape victims knew their attacker from school where they endured bashings from classmates so as to prevent being graded lower on tests. In 1999, nine out of ten rapes occurred between acquaintances rather than friends or strangers. In 2012, forty percent of all rapes were committed by a family member as children as young as twelve had been assaulted by a family member(www.rainn.org). Women are at great risk for abuse because of the language they use on the Internet, which is a digital realm where men can be anonymous and can access these women. When a woman uses a more suggestive pseudonym on the Internet, she is more likely to be harassed and targeted by men who desire younger girls. In this instance, these young women are not protected from predators because of their provocative nicknames that have been created with the hope of attracting men who wish to fulfill their sexual urges towards them. For example, there is a website that was created by Dr. Tage and it is currently accessible by anyone and used by the general public promoting the free exchange of information about child sexual abuse. A study was conducted on these profiles and found that there were numerous provocative nicknames on these profiles, while only a small number of these profiles listed actual photographs of the women in question while most of the pictures were pictures of young women who had been placed in suggestive poses such as "I'd like to be tied up or put under you. I mean serious bondage." This study showed that there were numerous young women who were using provocative nicknames that would attract a predator in the hopes of receiving a gift or a gift certificate. This is an example of women being victimized by predatory men because these females are willing to be exploited in order to achieve their goal of getting whatever it is they want. In 2012, there was a survey administered to middle school students asking whether or not they had engaged in sexting, sending sexually explicit images or videos on their cell phones.
